A TEAM of rescue volunteers was called to a popular fell race at the weekend.
During the Duddon Fell Race, a woman sustained an ankle injury and help was called.
While Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team were marshalling the event, it meant they had to call Coniston MRT to help in case further assistance was required.
Coniston MRT said: "We were asked to assist in case a stretcher carry was required, and so we walked up the Walna Scar track to rendezvous with their party.
"However, as it turned out, she was assisted from the fell by DFMRT and we were stood down.
"It was a lovely day for a walk."
11 volunteer team members attended for 2 hours and 35 minutes.
