THE Jubilee has come to Ulverston, as well as all the other festivities in store.
On June 4 in the Town Centre, the Ulverston Jubilee Treasure Trail will take place, inviting everyone to take on the mantle of Privateer and explore the town for the crowns placed in the windows of the shops marked on the maps detailing the event.
The theme is that of the Spanish Armada, with participants acting as the sailors of Franccis Drake in service of Queen Elizabeth I.
First prize is listed as £200.00, with other treasures up for grabs too.
Anita Garnett said about the trail:“This trail is a great way to bring community together for this unique, once-in-a-lifetime event.
"The school children of Urswick School have been fantastic in the creation of the crowns and we have had a great response from the business community to make this trail happen.”
The trail will start today, Friday, May 27 and closes on June 25, and all completed entries are to be returned to PURE, 3 Market Street, LA14 7AY.
It was sponsored by Ulverston BID, and supported with help from the Rotary kids of Urswick School.
