CUMBRIA has been at the fore front of celebrating the anniversary for our monarch.
The Silver Jubilee, held in 1977, brought out crowds in their thousands to mark the occasion where Queen Elizabeth II marked the 25th year of her reign.
The historic day was celebrated with large-scale parties and parades throughout the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth throughout the year, culminating in June with the official "Jubilee Days", held to coincide with the Queen's Official Birthday.
With preparations being made as early as March for many people.
Cumbria welcomed street parties, events and individual celebrations from Barrow, Ulverston, Dalton and Kendal.
Barrow's Arthur Street was transformed into a party where every member of the local community was invited to a day of treats, bunting and music.
With so many people in attendance, the day would live in the memories of every present for a life time.
Esk Avenue in Whitehaven enjoyed a similar turn out.
Millom School even took the opportunity of the silver jubilee to begin a sponsored work where they pupils successful raised funds for several local causes.
Additional street parties with tables stretching down the entire road were held on Bransty in Whitehaven and Fleming Square in Maryport.
A very special jubilee celebrations was held by the staff at Broughton Moor which saw hundreds of people turn out to mark the day.
