SIX new Deputy Lieutenants have been appointed in Cumbria.
Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria, Mrs Claire Theresa Hensman, appointed the following to be Deputy Lieutenants for the County of Cumbria; Julie Elizabeth Barton, David George Beeby, Gerard Paul Richardson MBE, Francis Alexander Scott, Professor Julie Mennell BSc, PGCTLHE, PhD, and Susan Odling Villiers-Smith.
Mrs Barton, of Ulverston, is the former High Sheriff of Cumbria (2020-21), and serves as a non-executive director of Love Barrow Families.
She is also a Trustee of the Neuro Research Trust, a member of Cumbria Community Foundation’s Furness Grants Panel, co-owner and HR Director at Forge Europa, and a former Governor of Furness College (2013-2019).
Mr Scott of Windermere is the Chairman of Schroders Family Office Service, former Chairman of Applerigg, Trustee of the Grosvenor Estate and chairs Grosvenor Food and Agtech, is a Trustee of the Francis C Scott Charitable Trust and a Trustee of Cumbria Community Foundation.
HM Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria, Mrs Claire Hensman said: “I am delighted to appoint six new Deputy Lieutenants to the county to assist me in my duties as the Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria. I have a number of Deputy Lieutenants located around the county who have a wealth of experience in connection with voluntary organisations, the Armed Forces and all other aspects of life in Cumbria”.
