STAFF at a Barrow nursery are delighted after receiving an ‘outstanding’ for the second time in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Roose Nursery, situated within Roose Community Primary School in Barrow, has been hailed in its latest Ofsted report after an inspector visited the site on March 10.

The report, published on the Ofsted website, rates the nursery ‘outstanding’ in all areas including: the quality of education, personal development and leadership and management.

Inspector Charlotte Bowe stated in the report that the ‘highly qualified staff strive to ensure that all children shine and gain the skills they require for life’.

The nursery, which has 74 children aged between zero and four on roll, was praised for its proactive staff who ‘go over and above to source early help and support for children’.

The inspector found that leaders ‘truly value their staff team’ and ‘inspire them to be the best they can be’.

Praise was also offered up to children’s ability to move on to school seamlessly, with staff helping pupils to focus on forming early friendships.

Staff engage in high-quality interactions with children, the report continues, and they repeatedly look for ways to extend children's knowledge and skills.

The inspection follows on from the nursery’s previous score of ‘outstanding’ awarded in December 2014.

Nursery manager Vicky Bell said the nursery continually strives to offer children and families the best start to their educational journey.

She said: “We are absolutely delighted and very proud to be able to share the news that once again Ofsted have rated our nursery to be outstanding in every area.

“As a nursery we continually strive to offer our children and families the very best start to their educational journey.

“Since Ofsted last inspected the nursery we have worked really hard, expanding and enhancing the provision by adding a two-year-old room, baby room and not forgetting the latest addition of the yurt.

“Our aim is that every child will shine, that every child has a spark inside of them and it’s our responsibility to ignite the spark.”
