Fight fans are in for a rare treat as some of the north-west's top warriors will be clashing in Barrow in a highly-anticipated mixed martial arts (MMA) event.
Xtreme Kombat 15 will be taking place at Hoops Basketball Centre in Barrow on Saturday, April 9, at 3pm.
The first fights of the day start at approximately 3pm with 2 title fights scheduled, and a total of 14 fights taking place.
The headline bout sees Shay Smith take on Pal Skaufjord for the Amateur Middleweight title.
Co-organiser and head of Xtreme Kombat Ryan Thomas has organised the event by been linking up with elite-level professional gyms across the north-west to source the best fighters in the combat sports world, and said he is delighted with the line-up:
"Xtreme Kombat 15 has been months in the making - we have built a solid fight card with amateur and professional fighters coming from all over the UK."
The event is being produced in collaboration with The Lock In, a local community interest company promoting events, entertainment and culture within the Furness area, including the upcoming Coast Roasts Festival this July.
The Lock In currently hosts the Banging Heads podcast, hosted by Ryan Thomas, Liam Blackley, Adam Haines and Ricky Holdforth, amassing a following of combat sports fans with their commentary, watch-alongs and insight into the sport.
Ryan said he is delighted with this coming together:
"With our new partnership between Xtreme Kombat, Banging Heads and The Lock In, we are excited to bring the best fights and we possibly can to Barrow.
"We pride ourselves on being the biggest and best combat sports promotion in the county.
"With 3 local homegrown fighters on the card, it’s a great event to showcase the talent this town has.
"It gives people a platform to express themselves and a legitimate stage to start off their fight career.
This is a show not to be missed and we look forward to seeing the always-loud Barrow crowd in attendance and hopefully inspiring the next crop of young and upcoming fighters to come out of the town.
Tickets are available for purchase now via The Lock In website (www.thelockin.live).
