THE body of a man has been found in the sea near Barrow.
Police believe it to be 57-year-old Kevin Long, who was reported missing.
Mr Long, from Preston, was last seen in Blackpool on March 20, police said.
Barrow Lifeboat, Cumbria Police and the North West Ambulance Service were called out on Saturday.
Mr Long's tragic death is not being treated as suspicious by officers.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "Very sadly the body of a man was recovered from the sea at Barrow, Cumbria on Saturday.
"While formal identification has yet to take place, we believe that the body is that of 57-year-old Kevin.
"His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
"We would like to thank all those who helped with our earlier appeal."
A spokesman for Furness Coastguard said crews were allowed the use of facilities at the Ormonde wind farm off Walney.
A statement posted on social media said: "Furness Coastguard volunteers were called out to a multi-agency incident which involved the Barrow Lifeboat, Cumbria Police and North West Ambulance Service.
"Furness Coastguard would like to thank the Ormonde wind farm for their assistance and use of their facilities.
"If in danger around the coast, on the lakes in the docks, or you think someone else is, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
Following his disappearance, Lancashire Police launched an urgent appeal and said they were concerned for his welfare.
They urgently appealed for information about his whereabouts.
Police said he was last seen wearing a white England rugby union shirt, dark blue jeans, blue trainers with white soles and a black puffer jacket with a mustard top.
