RESIDENTS have sent their best wishes to a driver on his mammoth 1,500 mile trek from Cumbria to Poland to donate much-needed goods to the people of Ukraine.
Truck driver Dave Gordon began the cross-country journey from Ulverston to Ukraine yesterday afternoon to deliver aid supplies to those most in need.
When Cater Kwik boss Matthew Mayvers appealed for a truck driver to deliver supplies to Ukraine, it was a ‘no brainer’ for Dave who volunteered immediately.
Refusing to let Dave take on the journey alone, Mr Mayvers has joined his trusty worker on the mammoth trip.
After hearing about Matthew and Dave's missing, people took to social media to show their support.
Lee Thompson said: "Hope their seats are very comfortable, and it has cruise control lol. Good luck guys"
Kathleen Alec Croasdell said: "Well done lads good luck."
Lori Robinson said: "Best of luck to you both, Godspeed."
