A SEXUAL risk order has been granted against a Barrow man.

The order against Charles Glover of Osborne Street will last for five years.

While the order is in force, the 60-year-old will not be allowed to use any device capable of communicating in an electronic or telegraphic manner unless he has notified the police VISOR team within three days of acquiring such a device.

It must have the capacity to retain and display internet history and he must not delete it or use private browsing, court documents show.

Glover must make the device available on request for inspection by a police officer or police staff employee and allow them to install risk management monitoring software if they choose to do so.

The order prevents him from using any ‘cloud’ or similar remote storage that can store digital images unless informing police of that activity and providing access on request.

He must not possess any device capable of storying digital images, both moving or still, unless he provides access to storage on request for inspection.

Court records said this prohibition will not apply to a computer at his place of work, Job Centre Plus, library, educational establishment or other such place, provided that in relation to his place of work, within three days of him commencing use of such a computer, he notifies the police VISOR/MAPPA department of this use.
