SOUTH Lakes MP Tim Farron has called for a full aduit to take place of an Arnside care home after a power cut left residents in the dark for several days.
Fifteen vulnerable residents living at Holly Bank care home, owned by Pearl Care, had to be rehoused after flooding resulted in a power outage and the loss of heating.
Three residents were treated for hypothermia.
MP Tim Farron said: “It is worrying to learn that this was not the first time there had been a power outage in the home.
“Before any of the residents move back into that property, there needs to be a full audit of the building so everything is in full working order and it is clear that is safe for them to return.
“It’s also vital that relatives of the residents are kept fully informed into the investigation that is ongoing.”
