DUDDON and Furness Mountain Rescue Team was called to rescue a walker who had fallen ill.
The mountain rescue team was called to assist Wasdale MRT on Saturday evening as one member of a party of six hillwalkers became ill.
As vehicles arrived at the RV a Coastguard S92 managed to pick up the party and flew them, with two Wasdale team members, to WMRT base, and the casualty onto the hospital.
The glow in the photo is from the aircraft’s searchlight, which is approx 4km away, and over 850m above our position.
11 team members attended, plus 2 running base.
