An exclusive Lake District hotel and spa restaurant has unveiled a stylish new look following an extensive refurbishment.
The W at Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa on Ambleside Road, Windermere has re-opened to show off several eye-catching new offerings, including a new head-chef.
The restaurant, whose venue is owned by English Lakes Hotels, Resorts and Venues, has aimed to create a contemporary dining atmosphere, with warm bright artwork and a jazzy modern vibe, as well as a new menu.
Head Chef Sam Rees has moved across from sister restaurant Blue Smoke on the Bay to work with a team of 18 staff and deliver a seasonal British and continental menu in the brand new surroundings.
Sam said: "The W offers diners an array of new signature dishes including fillet of Beef Wellington, starter classics such as Coquilles St Jacques, and of course the famous Low Wood Bay sticky toffee pudding."
These will sit alongside other new delectables such as Turbot Meuniere and Chicken Scallopini
The restaurants commitment to using local produce is underlined by the addition of a '50-mile cheese trolley', which features only artisan cheeses made within a 50-mile radius of the Lake District.
The food and surroundings are not the only features being attended to, as newly appointed restaurant and banqueting manager at Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa Craig Harrison said: "Attention to detail and innovation has been a key part of the refurbishment.
"We’re using state-of-the-art wine refrigeration and preservation technology so we can provide an extended list of international wines served by the glass at exactly the right temperature."
English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues is a family owned and run group of hotels with four properties, two of which are situated in the Lake District, Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa on Windermere and the Wild Boar Inn at Crook.
The group also runs the renowned art-deco Midland Hotel in Morecambe and the Lancaster House Hotel in Lancaster.
The restaurant is recruiting for staff to complete the team at the refurbished venue.
