THE number of coronavirus cases increased by 21 in the last 24 hours, official figures show.
A total of 20,822 cases had been confirmed in Barrow when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on February 11 (Friday), up from 20,801 on Thursday.
The cumulative rate of infection in Barrow, which covers the whole pandemic, stands at 31,205 cases per 100,000 people, far higher than the England average of 27,494.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 58,316 over the period, to 18,220,515.
There were no new coronavirus deaths recorded in the latest 24-hour period in Barrow.
The dashboard shows 210 people had died in the area by February 11 (Friday) – which was unchanged from Thursday.
It means there have been two deaths in the past week, which is a decrease on four the previous week.
