A DRAG queen community is raising funds for mental health awareness.

Diva Junction, founded by Millom man Sean Wilson, is conducting a series of fundraising events in aid of Mind in Millom.

They were inspired to raise money for the mental health charity after seeing the toll that the coronavirus pandemic has taken over the last two years.

The team hosted their first ever drag show in Millom in November, and are set to host their next one, called Glitz and Glamour, on March 12 at Millom Rugby League Football Club.

The show will be headlined by two talented drag queens, Dixi and Clair.

The group have already held raffles, a quiz night, and other fun activities.

On February 20, they will also be taking on a walk around the sea wall in Haverigg whilst dressed in drag.

Sean said: "We like to help others by raising money, this drag show is going to help raise funds and raise awareness of mental health because the last two years has took a toll on everybody's mental health.

"To raise funds we have a sponsored walk going round the sea wall in Haverigg on February 20 - drag is optional!

"We had a quiz night and we have a go fund me page, we have had raffles, spot the ball and we have name the teddy.

"We have had some support but we would love to have some more help to organise the events.

"This is our second drag show the first one was very well received by Millom Rugby club and the people of Millom, and others who came from the surrounding areas really enjoyed it so much they requested this one, the two drag queens really enjoyed performing at the show."
