Barrow AFC have made Burnley’s former Liverpool defender Anthony Driscoll-Glennon their second January signing.
The 22-year-old left-back joined on loan for the rest of the season on the eve of the FA Cup third round trip to Barnsley.
He follows Sunderland loan frontman Will Harris in bolstering the Bluebirds squad for the second half of the campaign.
Bootle-born Glennon has been on Burnley’s books for three-and-a-half years, following a long stint with boyhood club Liverpool.
He had been with the Anfield club since the age of six and also played alongside Liverpool and England star Trent Alexander-Arnold for local team Croxteth Park.
He made it to Under-18 level at Liverpool and then joined Burnley after being released.
He has captained the Clarets’ Under-23s and made a loan move to Grimsby Town in January 2020.
He has three first-team appearances to his name for Burnley, Glennon often featuring on the bench under Sean Dyche, and played 12 times for Grimsby, scoring once.
Having not made a first-team appearance this season, he is eligible for the Bluebirds' FA Cup tie at Oakwell on Saturday, subject to clearance.
Glennon will provide important defensive competition at a time Joe Grayson is currently sidelined with injury.
Manager Mark Cooper said on the club website: “He’s a good, versatile player who can play left-back or left wing-back.
“Obviously with the injury to Joe, we needed to bring someone in, whether that was a left-sided player or a wing-back - and Anthony fits the bill, so we’re pleased to have got him.
“It’s been a bit frustrating this week because everyone knows we need to strengthen up front, but we also had to bring a left-sided player in too, so we’re pleased to have got the deal done.
“Sean Dyche has been very complimentary about him as a player and he’s a good character as well which is just as important – and I know he is desperate to come and play."
