A DRUNK woman told police officers 'I will smash you and your families' faces in' after kicking out.
Denise Rawlinson was told to leave the scene by police officer after she had been witnessed shouting outside a property in Barrow.
South Cumbria Magistrates' Court heard she refused to leave and kicked an officer in chest.
The 63-year-old, of Barrow's James Street, admitted assaulting a police officer and being drunk and disorderly when she appeared in the dock.
Prosecutor Lee Dacre said it happened on the night of November 3.
"Police were called to an address in Church Street," he told the court.
"She was drunk, kicking at a door and shouting.
"At 10.40pm police attended the location and found the defendant outside the property.
"She was clearly drunk.
"She was asked to leave the area but was quarrelsome and refused to leave.
"She said to one of the officers 'all you are is a little PC'.
"She also said 'I will smack you in the face for that'.
"She kicked PC Hart in the chest.
"She said 'I'll smash your face in and I'll smash your families' faces in."
In a victim impact statement, PC Hart opened up on the emotional and physical effects of the assault.
He said: "I was deeply shocked by this incident.
"It's the first time since I became a police officer in Cumbria that I have been assaulted.
"I have no doubt Ms Rawlinson intended to kick me in the face.
"This has had an impact on me.
"I've spent a great deal of time reassessing the incident."
The court heard Rawlinson had a record of 80 previous offences, the last conviction coming in 2010.
Representing Rawlinson, Trystan Roberts said she had been on Church Street worried about a friend.
He said: "Having been charged with this offence she's had time to reflect on her behaviour. She's very upset at what has happened.
"She tells me that she accepts she had a drink. She had gone to her friend's because he had not been answering the telephone. In the past he hasn't answered calls where he has had a fit.
"She wanted to find out if he was OK.
"She was shouting through the door.
"She accepts she let her emotions get the better of her.
She doesn't accept she was deliberately trying to kick him in the face."
District judge John Temperley sentenced her to a six-week curfew, ordering her to stay at home between 8pm and 6am.
She was told to pay £100 in compensation to the police officer.
The judge said while there was no injury to the officer 'it's clearly had an effect'.
