A UNIQUE fresh meal delivery service in Ulverston has launched to help people eat their way to a healthy lifestyle enjoyed a bumper first day in business.
The Prep Stop, which is based out of a new £200,000 production kitchen facility in Ulverston called The Lakeland Kitchen, was officially launched on Tuesday, January 4.
And orders came through by the dozen as soon as the website went live - keeping the team behind the business busy throughout the day.
Now, as word of the venture spreads, potential customers are being advised to get their orders in quickly.
The Prep Stop is a subsidiary of pub group Lakeland Inns. Executive chef, Darran Hargan, said: “We couldn't believe the level of support on our first day. We absolutely believe in the business and the dishes we have on offer but demand surpassed our wildest expectations.
“So many people get stuck in a rut when it comes to eating, buying the same - often unhealthy - food time and time again.
“We’ve invested a lot of time and effort into creating a range of meals that suit people striving to achieve different lifestyle goals, be that losing weight, bulking up or simply maintaining a healthy diet and physique.
“There’s plenty of variety, and every meal is perfectly balanced, coming with nutritional information to promote informed eating.”
Meals, which come in three size options, are made from locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, and freshly cooked every day, They can either be home delivered or collected from The Prep Stop’s town centre base in Ulverston.
For launch, a breakfast and main meal menu were created. The menus will change weekly to ensure customers can enjoy variety in their diets.
Among the favourites so far are the chicken, chickpea and spinach curry and the spicy pulled pork with sweet potato mash.
Darran said: “Our bodies need and deserve good food. Many people live such busy lives that finding the time to prepare quality meals is so difficult. We aim to take that stress away by supplying freshly cooked, nutritionally balanced meals to cater for all tastes.”
Prices for fully prepared ready-to-eat meals start at £5.50.
