ST MARY'S hospice shop, Barrow has been awarded first place for their Christmas tree decorations in a festive competition.
Barrow BID ran a Christmas tree competition throughout December to see which business could decorate their tree the best in their window display.
Barrow BID supplied 81 businesses in the town centre with a Christmas tree to create some festive cheer in the area.
St Mary's Hospice shop were announced winners of the competition, having 91 votes from the public, crowning them the overall winners out of 17 entries.
A spokesperson on behalf of St Mary’s Hospice Retail Team said: “Barrow Bid’s Christmas Tree Competition seemed like the ideal opportunity to share with the local community how much we appreciate our wonderful St Mary’s Hospice shop volunteer, who give their time not just at Christmas, but all year round.
"We chose to decorate the tree with personalised stars, one for each volunteer.
"Winning is fantastic, a real boost for the staff and volunteers after another tough year, but more than that it felt good to be part of Barrow Bid’s plan to brighten up the shops and make them festive.”
