MOUNTAIN rescuers were called out after a schnauzer called Izzy fell into a quarry.
The dog became trapped at Low Blue Quarry, near Coniston, on Sunday.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) was called out at 1.45pm.
A CMRT spokesman said: "We dispatched two Land Rovers and lowered two team members down into the quarry with a dog harness.
"Izzy was brought up successfully."
Twelve CMRT members attended the callout, which lasted two hours and five minutes.
Below the CMRT post on Facebook, a member of the public published an image of Izzy and said: "Thanks very much for your help - Izzy is now happily sleeping on the sofa."
