A COMMUNITY celebration will be held by Furness Rail in Lancaster for its 175th anniversary.
Taking place on November 3 at Lancaster train station, Lakes Line & Furness Rail 175th Anniversary Cumbria will be holding a celebration to reflect on its rich and lengthy history.
Furness Railway 175 will hold its event on Lancaster Station's platform three.
The event will include a detailed look of the lines history and future opportunities that the railways has to look forward to.
Lancaster Station is one of the principal stations on the West Coast Main Line.
Originally known as 'Lancaster Castle Station' in order to distinguish it from the first Lancaster Station opened in 1840, the station was officially opened on 21 September 1846.
