CUMBRIA Constabulary have issued a warning to residents following reports of counterfeit bank notes being used in the region.
People in Cumbria have urged people to check the bank notes they are using are not fakes and report anything suspicious.
South Lakes Police said: "Police have been made aware of an incident involving the circulation of counterfeit £20 notes in the Penrith area, between September 23 and September 24.
"Businesses are asked to pay particular attention to all currency they receive.

The Bank of England have advice available on their website around checking for genuine notes.
