HUNDREDS of pounds has been raised for a hospice thanks to a popular fitness event.
The HIIT Company came to Life Leisure Centre Barrow Park to run a series of workouts to help raise much-needed funds for St Mary's Hospice.
Organised by fitness instructor, Sally Craig, the event was a huge success and raised more than £750 for the hospice through a JustGiving page.
Sally's grandma Diane Craig said this 'outstanding amount' will help the hospice after a 'hard period' through the pandemic.
She said: "I feel this is a wonderful gesture from a young person and the generosity of everyone who joined the fitness event to help make this outstanding amount.
"It will help the hospice after such a hard period with fewer than usual donations toward the running of this local valued facility."
