SIGNIFICANT investment is being spent on a Barrow supermarket to provide an 'improved experience' for customers.
Tesco Extra in Hindpool Road is set to undergo a refresh to its internal and external facade.
The improvements will include a full refresh of the store including refurbishing the health and beauty section.
A spokesman for Tesco said the improvements would not lead to any closures of the store while the works are taking place.
Dotcom deliveries and collections points will also not be affected, however, there may be a temporary closure of the petrol station later in the works which customers will be informed about prior to this happening.
The works are expected to be completed by December, with contractors 'working very hard' to minimise any disruption caused.
A spokesman for Tesco said the company will be making a 'significant investment' into the Barrow store to help provide an improved customer experience.
He said: “We are making a significant investment to refresh our Barrow-in-Furness Extra Store so that we can provide an improved experience for our customers."
“The improvement work to the store is expected to be completed by December 2021.
"Our contractors will be working very hard to minimise any disruption and colleagues will be on hand to help customers throughout the works.
"We want to thank our customers for their understanding and apologise for any inconvenience.”
