THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised to support a 20-year-old seriously injured in an incident at a festival.
More than £2,300 has been raised in the days after a fundraiser was launched for Chloe Austin who, alongside two others, was seriously injured in an incident involving a fairground ride at the Barrow Island festival Fudstock.
Chloe, from Barrow was transferred to Royal Preston Hospital in a critical condition following the accident, which took place on August 28.
The 20-year-old remains in a critical but stable condition.
A Just Giving page has been launched to help with costs associated with Chloe's ongoing care, which has already raised thousands of pounds towards its £20,000 target.
Chloe's parents, Sharon and Phil, thanked the community for the 'support and generosity' they have shown over the past few weeks.
Cumbria Police and the Health and Safety Executive are carrying out a joint investigation into the incident.
