CONSERVATIVE councillors from Barrow have presented a cheque to Askam Band following a successful fundraiser.
The event, held at Barrow Golf Club, raised £300 and one of the groups who received some of the proceeds was Askam Band.
The local brass band has been going for decades.
The Band Hall, where the players practice, was built in 1927 by playing members and officials and when not in use by the bandsmen it is utilised for town functions.
