POLICE have highlighted the 'untold misery' caused to communities by drug dealing after four people were sentenced for conspiracy to Supply Class A drugs in Barrow.

Four members of the drug supply conspiracy have been sentenced at Preston Crown Court.

- Daniel Rea, 28, of Leyburn Close, Liverpool was sentenced to four years in prison

- Stephen Shields, 33, of Tedbury Close, Liverpool was sentenced to 40 months in prison

- Scott Dobson, 40, of Furness Park Road, Barrow was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for 18 months

- Aimme Brown, 36, of Manchester Street, Barrow was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for 18 months

A spokesperson from the South Area Drugs Unit said: “The means by which Shields attempted to conceal the drugs on his person not only posed a real danger to his health but failed in their objective – we will always locate drugs hidden in this manner. This method of hiding drugs is simply not worth the risk.

“County lines drug dealing such as this cause untold misery in our communities and we hope that today’s sentencing sends a strong message that trafficking in Class A drugs will not be tolerated in Cumbria.”
