A PROPOSAL has been submitted to erect a sign outside a Wetherspoon's in Barrow.

Plans have been put forward to Barrow Borough Council to put up a fascia sign outside the Furness Railway in Abbey Road.

The sign, which will be placed four metres from the ground, will contain one set of halo illuminated letters displayed vertically on the outside of the building.

According to the plans, the sign will be placed adjacent to the Furness Railway beer garden which was opened earlier last month.

Wetherspoon's has spent £750,000 developing the new beer garden, on the site of derelict land left by the demolition of a former registry office next to the pub.
