A HOST of new homes could be built on land up for sale.
A plot in Askam is on the market for £450,000.
According to a listing the land, off Duddon Road, has permission to build nine new homes.
"We are pleased to bring to the market a parcel of land in Askam in Furness, close to local amenities, transport links, schools," a n online listing by Ross Estate Agencies said.
"The land has outline planning for nine properties and would be an ideal investment opportunity."
The site sits near to Askam's railway station.
The land could site what would be a growing numbers of new homes due to be constructed in the area.
Last year councillors voted through another outline plan to build 42 new homes at the former Urofoam factory site nearby in Askam’s Duddon Road.
A meeting was told that the site was formerly a K Shoes factory, which at its peak produced 25,000 pairs of shoes every week.
Under the terms of the approval, the developer must pay £33,000 towards traffic calming and speed reduction measures on Lots Road.
And £4,200 must also be paid to Cumbria Wildlife Trust for a fence at South Walney Nature Reserve to mitigate for the loss of the gulls’ nest.
