A new study has revealed the UK’s most popular gardens, and Levens Hall has made it into the top ten.
The research by flower delivery company Flying Flowers has used search volumes to rank the UK’s top gardens, revealing which of these floral hotspots the public are most interested in for a day out.
The 17th century hall, between Milnthorpe and Kendal, ranked ninth in the top ten, with 8,360 monthly searches.
It is home to ten acres of gardens and retains many original features including the world’s oldest topiary gardens, laid out by gardener Guillaume Beaumont- gardener to King James II.
The study revealed that Kew Gardens, London, was the most searched for garden in the UK, followed by RHS Wisley, Surrey, in second place and Wrest Park, Bedfordshire, in third place.
A spokesman from Flying Flowers said: "The UK is home to some of the world's most beautiful gardens which are home to a mixture of designs and styles. With many of our gardens offering a huge range of flowers and plants cared for and studied by gardeners and botanists, they’re the perfect places to explore and get in touch with nature this summer."
