FUDSTOCK is ready to make a comeback next week - and here is everything you need to know about it!

After resorting to a virtual event in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival is returning to the fields with their biggest ever event.

This year an impressive 37 acts will perform across three stages.

DJ Todd Terry, the Grammy Award nominated House Music Legend from New York will headline the Dance tent fresh from a performance at the sold out Cream Fields festival.

Elvana, an Elvis fronted Nirvana tribute, headline the main stage.

They took the UK by storm in 2019 with sell-out shows, a main stage appearance at Download Festival and three triumphant Glastonbury shows.

Local acts are also an essential part of the festival, many giving their time and expertise for free to support St Mary’s Hospice.

Local bands performing at the festival include The Silver Bars, PV-77, Mad4It, Northern Flow, Chancr, Insula, Mark Pratt and The Commission.

As the day darkens watch as guest act Laser Lights Alive brings the sky to life.

The Dance Tent will be curated by Barrow Underground Music Society and will feature ten house music acts including names such as Smokin Jo and Seamus Haji and DJ Gripper, Paul Jamez, DJ Justice and Homegrown.

The Bags of Love team will host the Acoustic Tent. It is a collective of local acts who came together to raise over £3,000 for Barrow Foodbank over the last year.

The Fudstock team has worked with the Barrow Island Community Trust and the Barrow Island community to stage an inclusive event. After asking for feedback from the 2019 event they have made changes such as improved toilets and an increased range of bar options.

The festival started in 2018 to commemorate the life of Barrovian Richard Thorne AKA Fud.

The Fudstock organising committee said: "Fud had a music festival dream, after such an uncertain year, we’re proud to have made a safe physical event a reality for local people to enjoy. We have worked tirelessly to stage the festival, but we could not have achieved it without kindness from people who have once again donated time and money and services, we live in an incredibly generous community. We are proud to support St Mary’s Hospice, it’s a cause that is close to our hearts, we have all seen first-hand the caring and tireless work the team at St Mary’s do. Come along and support the day, lets make 2021 the best one yet!"

Fudstock takes place next Saturday at Cavendish Park on Barrow Island. Visit: www.fudstock.co.uk
