A MOUNTAIN rescue team was called out after a woman became unwell whilst out walking.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was asked by NWAS (North West Ambulance Service) yesterday to go to the assistance of a woman in Grizedale Forest.
She had been walking along one of the way-marked trails when she became unwell.
One Land Rover left the base as soon as enough personnel had arrived, due to the possible seriousness of the incident a second vehicle followed later.
However, on arrival at the Visitors’ Centre, the woman had already been brought down by a community first responder who had already been making their way to the location.
NWAS was also in attendance. CMRT therefore stood down and returned to base.
Nine members responded to this incident which took one hour and 10 minutes.
