THE reported start date on a multi-million pound roundabout scheme to tackle congestion has been revealed.
Highways England is constructing the new roundabout along the A590 at Cross-a-Moor south of Ulverston and construction will start in September as workers move away for bird nesting season.
The roundabout project is expected to cost around £7 million with partnership funding from Highways England, Cumbria County Council, Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and South Lakeland District Council.
Barrow MP Simon Fell has revealed that principal construction work is set to begin on September 4 this year and conclude in July 2022.
Preparation for the site compound will begin this month, the MP has confirmed.
