A LAKE District hotel has been crowned as the ‘Best Countryside Getaway’ in the whole of the UK.

The luxurious Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, near Keswick, has added another notch to its belt after scooping the title at the 2021 Good Spa Guide Awards.

Finalists were announced earlier in the year and the 4-star Lake District hotel was shortlisted for the best countryside getaway up against nine other spa hotels across the UK.

The contenders for this category were each selected on the grounds of providing peace and quiet, great views and plentiful relaxation spots to its spa guests.

Competition was fierce, but the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa came out on top and the award was bestowed to The Falls Spa manager Davina Hassell at the distinguished awards evening.

“After an unprecedented year of hotel closures, it is excellent that our beautiful, countryside hotel has gotten the recognition it truly deserves and every single team member across the hotel should be proud of themselves.”

After over a year of virtual ceremonies, spirits were high as the 2021 Good Spa Guide Awards took place at the Spa Life Conference in Bedfordshire.

The annual awards ceremony celebrates the finest spas and hotels across the UK, making it one of the nation’s most prestigious spa awards.

Dani Hope, director for Lake District Hotels, said: "Immersing the spa with nature was always part of the plans when designing the spa, so we are really pleased to be recognised for this specific award. Davina and her team have worked incredibly hard since reopening after the third lockdown and we have seen an unprecedented demand for the spa since then so this win is a great moral boost for the team too. The Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, part of the Lake District Hotels group, is nestled within the picturesque Borrowdale Valley, close to the market town of Keswick.

The state-of-the-art spa facilities include a 16-metre heated outdoor hydrotherapy pool and a glass-fronted Finnish Sauna.

The hotel also boasts 22 suites that offer impressive views over the lake, the Lodore Falls waterfall or surrounding forest.
