A FUNDRAISING drag show saw people dance and come together to watch talented acts whilst raising money for an animal rescue.

Drag kings and queens entered the Diva Junction competition, which was hosted by Swedish drag star Antonina Nutshell on Friday night.

Diva Junction founder and organiser of the event Sean Wilson from Millom said that Antonina had "high energy for the whole night."

Four talented acts, Herbert, Natalie, BinkyKinky and Peaches Cream, took to the stage at Cloud 9 in Barrow.

Ultimately it was the talented Peaches Cream who took the crown with their incredible lip-synced rendition of It Should Have Been Me, made famous by Yvonne Fair.

They took home a prize of £50, a bottle of champagne and a paid gig at Liverpool's Funny Boys.

The funds raised on the night will be donated to Cumbria Animal and Hen Rescue, the total raised is yet to be announced.

Sean Wilson said: "The night went really well I think after the lockdown we all needed that.

"It was amazing to finally put the names to the faces we all had such fun.

"We had four people enter.

"They all did amazingly I couldn't of asked for anything better.
