1. Whitewater
The Ulverston waters are a popular swimming destination that you should pay visit to while the weather lasts.
Jessie Critch said: “The Whitewater in Ulverston is a great place.”
2. Fell Foot
The National Trust’s Fell Foot Park is a country park, formerly the grounds of a Victorian house, very close in fact to the waters of Lake Windermere. A place to visit to cool off this summer.
James Collins said: “I recommend Fell Foot. Lovely little park.”
3. Lake Windermere
One of the Lake District’s most popular and iconic tourist spots, Windermere has one of the largest lakes in the country and sees thousands visit its waters every year for swimming and boating.
David Ryan said: “The best is Lake Windermere.”
4. Rydal
Located between Grasmere and Ambleside, Rydal Water is a must be summer lovers seeking a day out topped off by a relaxing swim at the end. The lake is 1,290 yards long and varies in width up to a maximum of 380 yards, covering an area of 0.12 miles.
Phil Burke said: “We love going to Rydal for a swim. We went this weekend.”
5. Ullswater
The second largest lake in the Lakes is often used for boats, rowers, and swimmers. Ullswater is the second largest lake in the English Lake District, being about nine miles long and 0.75 miles wide, with a maximum depth a little over 60 metres.

6. Gill Force.
One of Eskdale’s most popular beauty spots, located near Holmrook. Swimmers are attracted to its incredible watery gorge with a pool on the River Esk, with deep sections surrounded by rocks.
Amy Shaw said: “Going to Eskdale this week to visit Gill Force. Such a lovely place.”
7. Loughrigg Tarn
Despite being just a small, natural lake located in the Lake District, just north of Windermere, the Loughrigg Tarn is an ideal way to end beautiful summers walk in the area.
Ben Harvey said: “We love a good walk around Loughrigg. Got a lovely little lake out there.”
8. Wastwater
Another popular beauty spot located at Overbeck, the Wastwater is a pleasant little swim for anyone wishing to cool off after a day venturing round the Lakes this summer.
Clare Ford said: “Wastwater is a nice one.”
9. Tongue Pot
The Tongue Pot holds a deep emerald pool beneath one of its waterfalls in a cleft of the mountain stream, just beneath a mountain packhorse bridge. This is a good destination to drop by at.

10. Buttermere
Once voted the UK's best views, this watering hole is a must for swimmers in the Lakes especially during the summer.
