Readers react over latest data shows over 300 motorists were caught speeding on Salthouse Road in Barrow in 12 months..

The speed camera, located near Marsh Street, monitors the road in the Eastbound direction, towards Roose. There is also a separate camera across the road monitoring traffic towards the town centre and Barrow Island.

From June 1, 2020 until and including May 31, 2021, 308 drivers were caught travelling above 30mph along Salthouse Road.

Out of the 308 tickets issued, just 81 have been paid. Instead of paying, you can opt into a speed-awareness course, which also dodges the points on your licence.

Each ticket is worth £100 to the government, which means a total of £8100 has been collected from the camera.
