A LEVENS cyclist is going to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after he was selected by Team GB.
James Knox has been named as a reserve for Team GB’s cycling squad and will now be heading to this summer’s games.
Team GB added James to their squad on Wednesday alongside fellow reserve Joss Lowden, with both standing by for the men’s and women’s road races, which are scheduled to take place on 24th – 25th July respectively.
Stephen Park, Performance Director for British Cycling, said: “I’m pleased we have been able to add James and Joss to the Team GB cycling squad for Tokyo.
"This has proven itself by the commitment James and Joss are showing to the team by accepting the offer of being a travelling reserve. They are sacrificing their time to make this long-haul journey, added to which are the added complications of the coronavirus, such as daily testing and periods of isolation, in order to support their teammates."
