JUST one area of Barrow has recorded new Covid cases, according to the latest data.
Statistics plotted on a map by Public Health England show the virus ‘suppressed’ in all but one area.
Barrow Central is only the area with at least three new cases in the borough.
Three new cases were officially recorded, a rise of one from two cases in the previous seven days.
All other areas have fewer cases, including most of south Cumbria.
Windermere South & Staveley is the only other area to have recorded new cases.

Public Health England breaks down the number of Covid-19 cases into neighbourhoods called ‘Middle layer Super Output Areas’ (MSOAs), which are smaller than council wards and based on population rather than geographical area.
A total of 28,289 people have had Covid-19 in Cumbria, the latest figures show.
It comes after Public Health England changed the way it reported the figures from Friday.
Revision to historical case data in England also led to the removal of 5,500 cases nationally over three days last week.
The number of positive cases reported in Cumbria by 9am on Monday (May 24) was 37 higher than last Monday.
Cases that are identified through a positive lateral flow test – those which can deliver results within half an hour – are no longer being counted if the person then takes a PCR test, which is sent to a lab to be checked, and receives a negative result within three days.
These cases are now being removed daily.
Overall, the rate of infection in Cumbria now stands at 5,658 cases per 100,000 people, lower than the England average of 6,925.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases was 12,144 higher than last Monday, with the total now standing at 4,464,900.
Cumbria’s cases were among the 616,266 recorded across the North West, a figure which rose by 3,589 over the period.
Case counts include patients currently unwell, those who have recovered and those that have died.
Data showed the Barrow borough has had 4,292 total cases across the pandemic as a whole.
