A PLAQUE remembering the family of geese that were unfortunately run over has been put up at Ormsgill Reservoir.
The new plaque has been welcomed by the Mayor of Barrow, Cllr Helen Wall.
The council’s lead member for heritage and wildlife said: “This family of geese have clearly touched someone’s heart.
“I think it shows a great a sensitivity that someone actually wanted to put the plaque there and commemorate these geese.
“It is a really nice thing to do.
“It would be good to put a sign up there to remind people that geese do cross in that area.
“It shows that we are a community that cares about our wildlife.”
Earlier this month on 12 May, the family of geese were killed by a driver while crossing Wilkie Road, Barrow..
