AN ambitious business owner has credited her 100,000 TikTok followers for helping expand her makeup company.
Chloe Walsh, from Dalton, first set up CoCo Cosmetics by Chloe in December 2018 after seeing a demand for unique, high-quality makeup.
The 23-year-old launched her cosmetics company from her bedroom and never expected to be inundated with orders from around the world.
The business sells a range of products including lashes, lip liners, gift boxes and its hugely popular marshmallow sponge.
Miss Walsh’s growing audience on the video sharing platform TikTok has allowed her to expand her two-year-old business into a new office in Furness Gate, Barrow, to cope with the growing demand.
She said: “I actually started out as a makeup artist and on the back of that decided I wanted to launch my own business selling better makeup for clients which was unique and different.
“It’s so rewarding to see what makeup can do for someone’s confidence and the difference it can make.”
Miss Walsh was mainly selling to local clients until December last year when she began posting videos about her business on TikTok.
These ranged from videos like: the day in the life of a makeup artist, how makeup performs on the skin or packing up orders.
The business quickly began to accumulate followers, and has recently marked the milestone of 100,000 followers on the app.
Miss Walsh said she had always been ambitious and set goals for herself.
“I always wanted to set goals for myself and expand the business as much as I could,” she said.
“Since getting more followers on TikTok, we’ve been shipping orders all over the world, to the US and Australia - it’s gone a bit nuts.
“TikTok has definitely been the best platform to promote my business. You only need one video to go viral which could massively help your business.
“TikTok has definitely allowed me to expand the business and move into a bigger office. It’s been a crazy year for my business.”
