LATE-night revellers at Tesco Extra Barrow causing the shop to close early have been branded a ‘disgrace’.
The Mail readers have reacted to news that Tesco has been forced to close early on Saturday nights due to incidents of disorder at the supermarket.
Bosses from the company said there have been two Saturday nights when the store had to close early for safety reasons.
They said that any future early closures will be monitored.
A Tesco spokesman said: “Unfortunately we have had to close our Barrow Extra store early on two Saturday nights because of some incidents of anti-social behaviour in the store.
“This was done to ensure the safety of customers and colleagues and will be monitored on an ongoing basis.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
Annette Partridge said: “Unfortunately this happens in all shops, being a small store or large, staff in the store should feel safe so good on them for shutting early.”
Sam Trewin said: “Disgrace, wonder where they come from??”
Lori Robinson said: “This is disgusting, staff in shops should never have to be subjected to such behaviour.”
Chris Carter said: “Soon as the pubs opened people have become idiots that can’t handle their ale. This beer and drug culture needs to stop. Alcohol and drugs are what a lot of people only care about.”
Mike Fallon said: “Make them stop selling alcohol and they’ll have no trouble at all so it’s their own fault.”
Greg Rose said: “Paying the price of a Tory government, cut back the police and anti-social behaviour will increase.”
