A MAN accused of murdering another man in Barrow has gone on trial at Preston Crown Court.
William Adrian Hughes, 63, was charged with murder following the death of David Greenall following an alleged incident on June 12 last year in the Broad Close area of Ormsgill.
It was alleged that Mr Greenall died after being stabbed.
Mr Greenall, 48, was rushed to Furness General Hospital after the attack but died a short time later.
The jury was sworn in at court today and the defence and the prosecution has made their opening statements to the court.
The first witness for the prosecution has been sworn in and is due to give evidence in court tomorrow morning.
The trial is estimated to take five days.
Mr Greenall’s family paid tribute to him at the time of his death, saying: “We had some really good times and have fond memories. He will be sadly missed.”
