DAFFODILS adorned with messages from pupils have been tied to the fence outside Wendy Jacobs' school.
Roose Primary School is honouring the memory of their late headteacher one year on from her death.
Acting head teacher Jenny Redhead said: "We wanted to mark the occasion as a school community to reflect Wendy's interests and make to personal to her. We also wanted it to be a celebration of her life after the tragic year we have had.
"Wendy was keen on us studying Wordsworth and his poetry. Last March, she arranged for us to have workshops from the Wordsworth Trust, and we were learning about the Daffodils poem. Wendy also was keen on the children learning and reciting poetry.
"As we are not all able to get together in school, we decided to record the poem together, which we will share in our assembly tomorrow. We thought it would be lovely for all the children and staff to make a daffodil with a special message attached.
"These have been fastened to the fence so the whole of the front of school is filled with spring life and colour.
"Wendy was a much-loved head teacher, friend and colleague who will always be remembered with fondness and respect.
"She would be very proud of our school community and would really appreciate this display in her honour."
