VOLUNTEERS at Ulverston Health Centre have now worked over 1,000 hours during the Covid vaccination programme.
The milestone was reached last Saturday and has been welcomed by Neil Fleming, who has co-organised the volunteering efforts.
He said: "This is a great opportunity to publicly acknowledge the support that Ulverston Resilience Group has had at Ulverston Health Centre, with volunteer stewards joining us from all over the mid-Furness area. It's been an absolute pleasure working with everyone. The patients visiting for their vaccines seem to have benefited from the welcome and the care that they have received from the stewarding team, which is what we're here for. Many thanks also to the friends and businesses who have provided pies and cakes for the stewards. It all helps, particularly when working outdoors in the wind and rain. Onwards to the next 1,000 hours!"
