ARMED officers have been given new accommodation for their police station in Barrow.
Ministry of Defence officers have publicly thanked BAE Systems for providing the team with new accommodation for their police station based in Barrow.
The new base comes after the announcement that MOD officers would be patrolling Barrow Island in a bid to increase security around the shipyard. Nationally the force is responsible for guarding the UK's nuclear assets and nuclear weapons. Armed officers will patrol parts of Michaelson Road, North Road and Bridge Road.
