AN inquest is due to look into the death of a Barrow musician who was killed while travelling to a gig in America.
Stephen Fitzpatrick died alongside bandmate Audun Laading and manager Trevor Engelbrektson in California last year.
They were members of the band Her’s, described by record label Heist or Hit as ‘one of the UK’s most loved up and coming bands’.
The duo had recently released their debut album and had been featured by BBC Introducing.
Heist Or Hit said the duo and their manager were killed in a road accident while travelling to a show in Santa Ana.
They had performed in Phoenix, Arizona, and were driving about 350 miles to the Californian city when the crash happened in Arizona.
The label said at the time: “We are all heartbroken. Their energy, vibrancy and talent came to define our label.
“As humans, they were warm, gentle and hilarious. Each time they stopped by the office made for an uplifting experience.”
On their website, Heist or Hit said Mr Fitzpatrick, from Barrow, and Mr Laading, from Norway, met for the first time in Liverpool as students.
The label said the band were playing 19 shows on their second tour of North America, having released their debut album Invitation To Her’s last year.
Mr Fitzpatrick died aged 24 on 27 March 2019.
An inquest has been scheduled to be held at Cockermouth Coroner’s Court on October 2.
The hearing, which will look into the circumstance of his death, is expected to last around an hour.
