A COUPLE enjoyed an intimate wedding 'just for two' in a beautiful Lake District setting on an atmospheric July day.
Laura Clark, 31, a financial planner and Dr Hannah Clark (nee Petty), 33, a respiratory doctor, tied the knot at the Gilpin Hotel.
"The whole day was amazing to be honest," said Laura Clark.
"We woke up and had a leisurely morning, our room had a private jacuzzi and sauna which was so relaxing.
"The hair done by Gareth Lambert was really fun and looked great.
"Then a private car picked us up and took us down to the lake house which is absolutely stunning."
Mrs Clark said they had always wanted a private wedding, with plans for a 'big knees' up at a later date to celebrate with family.
"We were always having a private wedding just for two and having a big knees up party which was meant to be taking place in October, but is now taking place in April," she said.
"For us it is about the marriage rather than the huge day and I would highly recommend the way we got married to everyone.
"We are however really looking forward to celebrating with everyone in April.
"The staff at the Gilpin were genuinely exceptional and it was so kind of them to be our witnesses."
In true Lake District style the couple's original date, postponed due to COVID-19, on June 1 saw glorious sunshine, whilst on the day on July 27 it rained for most of the day.
This did not dampen the happy day however, and the pair still managed to get outside and shoot their beautiful wedding pictures with photographer Tiree Dawson.
"The ceremony took place in the conservatory, then we had afternoon tea down at the boat house overlooking the lake and it was just magical," said Mrs Clark.
"We finished the day off at Hirishi with the tasting menu which is the most incredible meal we have ever had.
"The day was honestly amazing and it went far too quickly."
The couple have been together for three years. After meeting on Tinder they went to Proof in Chorlton for their first date.
“Hannah proposed to me very romantically at our home in spring last year and said she wants to marry me so let’s go buy a ring," said Mrs Clark.
“We went shopping in York and had a fab day out."
The newlyweds, from Manchester, were originally planning a month away to Sydney, New Zealand and Bali, but are now hoping for a week away in Croatia.
“We would like to thank the Gilpin and all the staff and Tiree for making our day and weekend incredibly special,” added Mrs Clark.
