A SCHOOL has shown its support for a parent running more than 250 miles in memory of its former headteacher.
Patrick Robinson, 44, who works at BAE Systems, is paying tribute to Roose Primary School headteacher Wendy Jacobs, who died after contracting coronavirus in March, by running 270 miles in her memory.
Mr Robinson is currently on day 27 of his 100 lap challenge which is a 2.4 mile run around the Holbeck Estate bypassing the Roose School gates followed by a final 22 mile run from Mrs Jacob’s hometown in Grange to Roose Primary School’s gates
Mr Robinson is raising money for the school garden area which is in need of a revamp.
A spokesman for the school said: “The Roose community has been deeply saddened and affected by the tragic passing of Wendy in March from Covid-9 and pneumonia.
“We and her family are so appreciative of Pat Robinson for initiating this fundraiser for a memorial garden at the School in her memory – we know that she would love this idea.”
