MORE than 200 campers including '20 people partying on Catbells' were spoken to by the Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA) and its partners last night.
Tony Watson, LDNPA head of communications, said all individuals were 'given the opportunity to clean up and leave'. Those who did not were fined.
On Twitter at around 11.20pm yesterday, Mr Watson said: "Our teams and those of our partners have spoken to over 200 individuals tonight.
"From 20 people partying on Catbells [overlooking Derwentwater], to people camping with fires on summit cairns, to people who’ve driven miles down paths to camp, to drunken camps by tarns and everything in between."
Camping is not permissible until July 4.
