A COSTA customer from Barrow has accused the chain of making hot chocolate with water. 

The global coffee chain has responded to a customer on Twitter after she tagged them in a post. 

Twitter user Laura Jane Pearson posted: "Costa are making hot choc with water... Oh the humanity @CostaCoffee whyyyy????"

Costa were quick to respond and deny the accusation. 

"No water goes in our hot choc - it's just milk and hot choc powder ^Adam," they replied. 

But the customer responded again and said: "Speak to your Barrow in furness drive through... They are doing it with water."
